You Made Me Realise

Oh. My. God.

ATP Concerts are very proud to present my bloody valentine who will return to play in Summer 2008 across the UK. The band will take to three cities London, Manchester and Glasgow. The following three dates have been announced:

Friday 20th June – London – The Roundhouse
Saturday 28th June – Manchester - Apollo
Wednesday 2nd July – Glasgow - Barrowland

Tickets go on-sale this Friday, November 16th

Right, I'm up for the Roundhouse gig - who's with me, fellow early-90s wall-of-sound burst-eardrum indie kids?

Look, just look (and listen, obviously):

SOLD OUT in 14 minutes. Bah.

I've always ranked My Bloody Valentine with Joy Division as one of those bands whose records you expect to enjoy much more than you actually do. I remember the anticlimax when I bought Unknown Pleasures and found out it was tuneless and dull. Loveless I found unlistenable.

How peculiar. Did you play the YouTubes?

Even this many years on I still get a back-of-the-neck tingle when I hear the opening bars of either of those. And the sheer visceral excitement of Kevin Shields guitar coming back in the slightest of a fraction of a beat early after it's left hanging with "...you made me realise".

Oooof.

I love You Made Me Realise more than almost any other song and would gladly give up a big toe to hear one of their 45 minute live versions of it.

Isn't Anything is far better than Loveless.

Can't believe this sold out so fast, I'm going to have to be very very nice to the people that managed to to swing me a ticket for Sonic Youth doing Daydream nation recently.
