Your Way Or The Norway

Come on - everybody must have bought Melody A.M? Well, they're back.

Yes, I admit it could be argued that the new track is 'moderately similar' to all of the previous ones. Still, it's worked for U2 *spit* for nearly 30 fucking-awful years, the terrible repetitive bog-trotting Jesus-complex pub-musician twat/s.

Sorry, where was I? Oh yes, Royksopp have a new album out soon. Thanks.

Peace, Lily

I posted this and thought of you all: Peace, Lily

(Mostly for Andy, so he can get cross :)

The wicketkeeper in my cricket team is a very good friend of Elly from La Roux.

FACT.

Anyway, this:

For what it's worth? I really like the song but I really hate like the mix (all boom+tizz = producer deaf and/or on coke). But the video is surely a rip-off of (homage to?) Kylie's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" isn't it?

Anyway, like, whatever.

What fresh hell is this?

Yes, it's the only woman ever to take herself reeeeeeeally seriously while wearing mouse ears, Annie Lennox, covering an indie sort-of-smash we'd all forgotten about. Jo Whiley - you have a lot to answer for.

Having said that, I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I really, really like it. Despite trying not to, and despite the bass-Annie's Kath from Kath and Kim make-up.

Next week: Alison Moyet covers Car Song. Your suggestions for similar "re-imaginings" in the box below, please.

Anyone...

...still here? I was listening to this:

and stumbled across this Florence And The Machine track:

Excellent. Had seen the odd tip in the press but hadn't had a listen (and I'll admit here and now that initially I thought it was Kate Nash!). I like it when it goes a bit WOOOOOOOAAAAAAR at the end.

Carry on.

* also includes a Hot Chip track remixed by Fake Blood - EPIC WIN :)

Fear The Lily

What do we think? Or are we all still in hibernation after Christmas?

Hey there's a game as well!

Couple of good remixes around too; heard a dubstep-esque one by The Count (AKA Hervé) on Sinden's show on Kiss which I can't find anywhere. Yet...

Fifty Fifty Fifty

"Forget the magazine editors & big label marketing budgets. This is the best music from 2008 chosen by the most passionate music fans alive: music bloggers."

Excellent stuff; particularly like the way the albums are pieced together like a podcast.

(Fleet Foxes #1 though - really? MGMT for me...)
