Don't Look Back

I just bought my ticket to see Public Enemy playing 'It takes a Nation of Millions to hold us back' in its entirety. I'm quite excited about this. I've also been to the Don't Look Back concerts by Sonic Youth, Slint and Mudhoney, and although yes its predictable what they will play, it's also comforting to know you won't have to sit through endless mediocre new songs in your quest to hear a few old classics (Yes, I'm talking to you Morrissey)

So what album would you pay good money to see performed in its entirety? My starters for ten are:
The Smiths playing The Queen is Dead
Lou Reed and John Cale playing Songs for Drella

Interesting question, where to start! OK, I can come up with two more:

The Stone Roses "The Stone Roses"
Nirvana "Nevermind"

(and I would have also picked The Smiths)

As an aside I did see The Charlatans at Newcastle Mayfair in 1990 and it was just like standing there listening to the album -- they were note perfect and the PA system was brilliantly set up but there was also a distinct lack of any performance. Which was very odd.

"Songs for Drella" just made me think of that X Factor berk bawling "SING 'EM ANOTHER SONG DELLA" before being carted out of the audition room in one of those nice padded backwards-fitting pyjama jackets à la Chip Shop Katona.

And that has been the highlight of my morning so far.

I think I'd pay LOTS to see Saint Etienne doing the whole of Tiger Bay. Or Pulp doing His 'N' Hers (which is still my favourite album ever)...

I'd also probably go to a Girls Aloud performance of their poppers o'clock opus Chemistry (but only if I could nip to the bog and the bar during See The Day)

I'd like to see the Dickies play first album "Incredible shrinking Dickies"....(still brings a smile to my face that)....from start to end....dozen or so songs and all over in about 25 minutes. Plenty of time to have a quick beer and catch early train home.
